Michael Rankin

Michael Rankin, is a Certified Personal Trainer, Group Training Specialist, Corrective Exercise Specialist and Behavior Change Specialist through the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM). He is also a Certified Nutritionist though Precision Nutrition. He is the Head Trainer at PFT in West Sacramento and co-owner of Pure Form Training.

He was introduced to fitness at an early age by his father, but like most people was unable to maintain a consistently healthy lifestyle. In his early 30's (at his heaviest and most unhealthy), he decided to change career paths completely and immerse himself into the world of fitness. 

After years of constant trial and error, learning and unlearning, struggles and successes, he decided to "put up or shut up" and entered an 18-week Transformation Contest, hosted by an elite online fitness trainer. He finished in the top of his class, which lead to an opportunity to learn (and eventually contribute) from some of the best fitness minds in the world. 

This experience opened his eyes, to how badly he had been mislead by the fitness magazines, fake gurus, supplement funded marketing, fad diets and rampant short-cut driven approaches that sell; but don't produce long-term results. 

He became obsessed with finding the best possible platform to help others reach their maximal potential, while also avoiding the same mistakes he had endured. This quickly lead him to Carl Hultgren and the Pure Form Training System; where he plans on coaching, training and improving for the rest of his professional career. 

Other than that...give him a guitar, a puppy, a perfectly cooked piece of wild caught Alaskan salmon, some chocolate truffle cake and his world is right.   

In his own words:

"I believe in long cuts over short cuts, habits-over-hurry and that you don't get your 'wants', but you'll always meet your standards. My main goals are to help our PFT Family Members filter through the fitness fads, ease the stress of overwhelm and achieve their desired health results by getting just a little better each and every day. That's how true change happens and ultimately.... how it lasts"
